When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you God’s mystery. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. Confession:  I’ve been overweight for a long time.

When we’re growing up, what do we aspire to be?  A doctor, a lawyer, a race car driver?  Why?  Is it because we want the title or because there is something an individual in that position does that we are attracted to?

I hate the Dentist.

I went to the dentist today.  Not exactly how I like to spend my afternoons, but goal #9 is: get up to date on all doctor’s visits.  I had already gotten the cleaning a few weeks back which technically got me to this point.  However, a cracked tooth led to the need to have a filling redone which led me to this afternoon where I was sitting in the dentist’s chair with a drill in my mouth.
